On August 22nd, at the 2026 Qilu Fashion Conference, the "Qilu Embroidery - Excellence Collaboration - The Collaborative Strategy of the Shandong Textile and Apparel Industry" themed dialogue was held as scheduled. As an important industry discussion session of the 2026 Jinan Fashion Week, the dialogue brought together representatives from textile and apparel associations in various cities of Shandong Province, including Jinan, Qingdao, Weihai, Haoyang, Zibo, Liaocheng, and Zaozhuang, to focus on the coordinated development of the entire industry in the province, break through regional barriers, and explore the path for high-quality development of the entire Shandong textile and apparel industry in a coordinated manner.

This thematic dialogue was chaired by Wang Miao, the Party Secretary and Executive President of the Shandong Textile and Apparel Industry Association. The dialogue focused on three core topics: shaping the industry label, the path for cultivating local brands, and cross-regional resource collaboration and sharing. Industry representatives from various regions, based on their local industrial characteristics, respectively introduced the current status of regional characteristic sectors such as Weihai workwear, Haoyang sweaters, Zibo textile new materials, Liaocheng clothing processing, Zaozhuang textile clusters, and Jinan commercial circulation. They directly addressed the current reality bottlenecks in the province's industries, such as regional development imbalance, poor flow of factors, repeated construction of resources, and insufficient linkage among clusters.

Most guests believed that the Shandong textile and apparel industry has a complete range of categories, including spinning and weaving, fabrics, workwear, knitted sweaters, and commercial clothing, each with its own advantages. However, in the past, the clusters in various regions were relatively independent, and the efficiency of upstream and downstream linkages in the industrial chain needed to be improved. To break through regional barriers, promote the circulation of raw materials, production capacity, design, orders, and channel resources throughout the province; use the Jinan Laoqiao Clothing City as a provincial-level commercial hub, link various manufacturing clusters, and build a collaborative model of "cluster manufacturing + market window"; rely on the "Shandong Textile and Apparel Industry Collaborative Development Action", make good use of the association's order center, open up the supply-demand matching channels within the province, and achieve capacity complementarity and resource sharing.

In terms of brand building, the dialogue proposed that based on the historical heritage of "Qilu Silk and Lu Brocade" in Shandong textile, adhere to technology, fashion, and green integration, and take a differentiated brand route. Each region should leverage its own strengths, avoid homogenized competition, and some regions should focus on advanced manufacturing and functional fabrics, some regions should deeply cultivate the knitting and workwear sub-sectors. Jinan should leverage its commercial and fashion incubation advantages and jointly build a regional public brand matrix for Shandong textile and apparel. At the same time, it should link with Chinese-Korean fashion cooperation resources, share exhibition and design resources, and jointly explore domestic and international markets.
