On August 12, the third council meeting of the Middle Association Medical and Health Branch and the seminar of the "Biomedical Fiber Products and their Industrial Development Strategy Research" project (referred to as the "Project") of the Chinese Academy of Engineering was held in Binzhou, Shandong Province, and the meeting was hosted by Shandong Xinyue Health Technology Co., LTD. Li Lingshen, Vice President of China Textile Industry Federation; Yu Jianyong, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering and President of Donghua University; Li Guimei, President of China Industrial Textile Industry Association; Ji Jianbing, Vice President; Liu Yuexing, President of Middle Class Association Medical and Health Branch (hereinafter referred to as "Branch") and Chairman of Pleasure Group; Yang Yumin, President of Nantong University; Zhang Qiang, professor and chief physician of Beijing Ditan Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University, Wang Yujiu, president of Binzhou Medical College Affiliated Hospital and other branch directors and project team members attended the meeting. President Liu Yuexing delivered the third Council work report of the first session of the Middle Class Association Medical and Health Branch, introducing the development of the medical and health textile industry and the main work carried out by the branch in organizational construction, scientific and technological innovation, industrial chain cooperation and conference forums. In the future, we will continue to use all kinds of support policies, accelerate the opening up of scientific and technological achievements transfer and transformation channels, deepen strategic cooperation with scientific research and education resources, and serve member enterprises to achieve the coordinated development of "medical industry, university, research and administration".

The Chinese Academy of Engineering attaches great importance to the development strategy in the field of biomedical fiber products, and has set up a special project to carry out relevant development strategy research in 2024, hoping to improve the national health service guarantee ability in this field through this research work, and provide strong support for the decision-making of the state and relevant departments. At the meeting, project team members Dr. Li Guanzhi, Professor Wang Fujun, Professor Ma Pibo, Professor Liu Yong respectively represented the general group, in vivo products group, in vitro products group and protective products group to report on the development status of the field, key technologies, high-quality development constraints, and explain the next research and work plan. In the research and discussion session, representatives from key enterprises in the industry shared the key work and challenges encountered in product development and application promotion, and made a number of suggestions on the project. In the expert discussion session, President Yang Yumin, President Wang Yujiu and Director Zhang Qiang put forward valuable opinions on technological innovation, achievement transformation, clinical application, standard quality, evaluation and supervision.

Li Lingshen pointed out that it is an urgent and strategic task for the textile industry to accelerate the construction of high-level scientific and technological self-reliance and modern industrial system in the field of biomedical fiber products in China. It is hoped that the project team will fully investigate and listen to the opinions of experts from enterprises, regulatory authorities and medical institutions, address the global advanced level and people's health needs, clarify the institutional mechanism of the development of biomedical fiber industry, and put forward high-level policy recommendations to relevant national departments.

Academician Yu Jianyong pointed out in the summary of the meeting that medical and health textiles are of great significance for ensuring people's life safety and improving the level of health and well-being, and are also an important development direction and growth point of the industrial textile industry. It is hoped that the project team will grasp the strategy of the project research in the following work, further strengthen the investigation and research, master the basic information of the industry development, sort out the key technologies and key products in the field of biomedical fiber materials, benchmark the international advanced level, deeply analyze the pain points and blocking points in the industrial development, and do deep and practical research work.

During the meeting, the participants also visited the "Life Science and Technology Museum" of Huanghe Ballad Health City and conducted field research on local enterprises.
